Scrap the Boys July Challenge

There is a great challenge over at Scrap the Boys this month to get you all motivated to scrap your boys school photos. There are also two wonderful sponsors Scrap Therapy and Scrapbook Divas. THIS MONTHS CHALLENGE IS... SCHOOL PHOTOS This month is school photo time at our school so your challenge this month is to create a layout featuring your child(rens) school photo. If your child isn't at school but playgroup, early learning or creche try and use a photo of them there. It is only with your support that great little blogs like Scrap the Boys are able to continue so please pop over this month and look at all the wonderful inspiration. Scrap the Boys May Challenge

This month over at Scrap The Boys there is a super fun challenge to scrap your boys getting dirty or messy!!!! We would also like to see your photos inspire your layout! Well I went to town with this one!!! Found some pics of Harry enjoying the red icing off his 1st birthday cake and used that colour throughout the layout. Here it is!

One for Sophie

When we were home on Easter holidays Sophie decided she would like to scrap with me, which was really nice! We were lucky enough to stumble across a challenge page for younger scrappers over at Show Us Your Stuff called appropriately 'Sophie's Corner'. The challenge this month was to use green.

Soph thoroughly enjoyed going through my scraps to find papers to match the pics of Troy and Harry washing the car. She had loads of fun completing this challenge, especially using the mist! I'm sure she will be waiting eagerly to see what the challenge will be next month!!

Daring You To Scrap April Challenge

So I actually got time to complete a couple of monthly challenges this month which was pretty cool. Decided to have a play around at Daring You To Scrap where the prize was an excellent voucher from Polly Scrap Kits. This month they used a sketch and we all know how much I love a good sketch.

I was inspired by the banners and used 3 small photos. They aren't the best pictures but I really just wanted to scrap the memory of Grace and Sophie when they were much younger!! Whenever we go to visit Grace, it doesn't matter what the girls are doing it is always together, following each other like little shadows!! Thanks for dropping by!

April at Scrap the Boys

Hopefully now things have calmed down a little I will be able to get back into posting more regularly. That's what I hope anyway!!! Over at Scrap The Boys this month they have a great challenge all about re-cycling:

RE-CYCLING....

We would like you to re-cycle some form of PACKAGING that is BOY related, this could be toy related, scrapbooking packaging, something from a magazine or book use your imagination....

Really had fun with this one. Used some colours I don't usually use and a fabulous Charm's Creation star as well. Loving these at the moment. Seem to be adding them to all my layouts!! New Design Team at STB

Stuck Sketches

Being on holidays has allowed me to participate in a few more challenges than I usually would which is just fine by me!! We all know how partial I am to a good sketch so I decided to have a play around with the challenge over at Stuck! this month. With a bit of creative play this is what I came up with.



Sometimes layouts just come together and this was one of those!! Love the colours and am really pleased with how the weaving turned out in the background!! Thanks for dropping by!

Handmade By Suzanne

Decided to have a go at the challenge over at Handmade By Suzanne this month. You know how I love a good shetch so this was right up my alley. Photos are of Soph at the Big Banana a couple of years ago. Had loads of fun with this - lots of stamping, inking and doodling. Very messy but one of my faves!!!!



The weather is horrible here at the moment. So wet and overcast. Back to work tomorrow so thought I'd better take a chance and get a photo while I could so I appologise for the terrible light. They seem to have great challenges over there so think I'll add them to my list of challenges each month. Oh, and they have a great shop with lots of cool chippy. Just Because!!

Here are a couple of layouts that I entered in challenges and did for DT's last year and for some reason forgot to post them on my blog. They are some of my favourties too. The first one is of a trip to Sawtell with some great friends a couple of years ago.




This next one is a picture of Harry on one of our many visits to family out west. Needless to say, because it is so hot he spends most of his time in the pool!!



The last one was for Decembers challenge over at Scrap the Boys. Don't usually like scrapping Christmas pages but I'm really happy with how this one turned out!

Scrap Jacked

This is a layout of Soph baking some Anzac biscuits on Anzac Day which is a little tradition we started a few years ago. Lots of layers once again (which seems to be my thing at the moment).

Two in one day!!!

The beauty of holidays is that I can get on the computer and trawl through all the blogs I don't always get to visit or participate in. Came across this months challenge at Scrap The Girls (and it certainly was a challenge for me!!!!!!) and thought I would give it a go.
So January's challenge is

MONOCHROMATIC

minimal black and white is allowed, that means, for inks or journalling, or rubons or doodling or the odd small embellishment.

I usually like throwing on a range of papers, some messy ink or paint so containing myself to just one was a struggle. Here's my effort!



Picture is of Sophie at 4 years of age. She is such a beautiful soul!! I said to her today after I showed her the layout "Do you know what it means?" She said, "Does it mean you think I am dreaming?" I said "You are so clever, you can be or do whatever you want to. Don't ever think for one minute that you can't do anything!" Her reply was "I love you mum!" These are the moments that make being a mum so great!! Thanks for looking and the beautiful comments you leave.

I'm Back!!!!

Yes, it was almost like I had dropped off the face of the earth!! I've decided that December was basically a write off. Barely any time for scrapping with all the responsibilities at school(reports, presentation day, blah, blah, blah). So, I won't bore you with all that only to say that one of my resolutions was to take photos everyday. Photos of the little things, things the kids say and do, documenting things that make me laugh (like Troy's addiction to newspapers - watch this space for a page coming shortly!!). So here is my layout for this months challenge at Scrap The Boys.

January STB Challenge

This month we want to know about your boys favourite summer holiday past times. For example, do you spend heaps of time at the beach, do they love relaxing at home, their favourite holiday destination, spending time in the pool and so on...

Most Christmas holidays we manage to head over to Yamba to visit Troy's mum. They have this great little shop in the main street that sells ice-cream and of course Harry can't go past without having one!!!
